Accreditation:
It’s the driving force around here and a main topic of
conversation. Let me tell you the latest.
The accreditation standards require that a professor of
record be established for each course. Those professors are
being identified. Listed below are persons and their
assigned classes approved during the September 23 meeting of
the Board of Regents:
·
Raymond Bocca, DPhil – Family Life Education and Leadership
·
Paratan Balloo, DPhil - Leadership
·
Anthony Cutting, DPhil –Principles of Sociological Research
·
Dan Fisher, DPhil – Theories of Organizational Behavior
·
Lynn Gibson, DPhil – Orthodoxy and Orthopraxis
·
Phillip McMinn, DPhil -- Philosophy of Contextualization
·
Robert Morgan, JD – The Family: The Law and Public Policy
·
Robert Page, DPhil – Family Resource Management
·
Patricia Pearsall, DPhil – Ethics and Society
·
Kevin Riggs, DPhil -- Sociology of the Family
·
Tommy Thomas, DPhil – Mentoring & Coaching in Leadership &
Supervision
·

Accreditation Standards 18.5 and 18.9
specify that institutions must have adequate funds on hand
to provide for operating expenses and to insure financial
stability. I am asking for assistance from each of you in
meeting these standards. Let me publicly express
appreciation to you who responded to Dr. Green’s request for
assistance in debt retirement. All of the $11,850 received
to date has been paid on the existing mortgage. The current
financial need is for additional operating funds to meet
daily needs and to accumulate funds necessary to establish
financial stability.

A recent advisor
told me that the #1 reason people do not give is
because they are not asked. I am asking:
“Will you please write a check to
Oxford Graduate School to be used for the operating
budget?” |
Standards 8.1 and 8.4
of the TRACS accreditation manual state that all official
publications of the institution are to be reviewed and
revised as needed.
At the September 23rd Board of Regents’ meeting, the revised
versions of the catalog, policies and procedures manual,
faculty handbook, employee handbook, and student handbook
were all approved.
Why all this emphasis on accreditation? That stamp of
approval from an accreditation agency tells the world that
quality education is provided by an institution. When I came
to OGS, I was given the task of providing leadership
necessary to insure compliance with accreditation standards.
Many of you have responded with important assistance to help
make full accreditation possible. Thank you.
I look forward to working with you to meet the challenges
accreditation presents, and I look forward to celebrating
with you as we share the joy that new status brings to OGS.
Warmly,
Rebecca F. Tucker, EdD
