[1986] E. Basil Jackson, DPD, MD, ThD, PhD, DSc, DLitt,  Distinguished Professor of Psychology, Medicine and Law,was born and raised in Ireland and received his preliminary education there. He studied at the Queen’s University of Belfast Medical School and shortly after graduation was appointed a fellowship in psychiatry at the Menninger School of Psychiatry in Topeka, Kansas. 

  After completion of training in Adult Psychiatry he entered the child psychiatry program at the University of Rochester in Rochester, New York. Shortly after completing training as a pediatric psychiatrist he was appointed Director of Graduate Psychiatric Education at Marquette University School of Medicine in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.  He became certified in Psychiatry, Child Psychiatry and Forensic Psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology and completed training and certification as a psychoanalyst and also as an addictionologist.  He has practiced these disciplines all of his professional life. He has also earned graduate degrees in theology and in law and is a member of the Bar of the State of Wisconsin.  Presently he continues to consult in the field of law and psychiatry, but his principal interest lies in the integration of faith and society

[1987] Helen G. Morgan, PhD, Distinguished Professor of Education and Family Research, is currently the Chair of the Graduate Research Council, past Dean of Graduate Studies, and presently her professorship relates to guiding the dissertation process for graduate students..  Dr. Morgan uses her twenty (20) years of research activities as Vice Chair, Oxford Society of Scholars.   Dr. Morgan served on a number of SACS and NWACS evaluation teams and came to the Graduate Core Faculty with fifteen (15) years teaching experience and sixteen (16) years in academic administration.  She directs post-doctoral research of alumni, faculty, and scholars in producing academic papers for evaluation, publication, and reading at the Graduate Colloquy on campus and in conjunction with the Scholar's Orientation at the Library of Congress, Washington, DC, and the Oxford Society of Scholars session in Oxford, UK.  Dr. Morgan directed research projects and research reports as Hamilton County Coordinator of Instruction.  Research was a major part of her work as Director of Management Information Systems with the Tennessee Department of Education Research Coordinating Unit (RCU) and with Technological and Adult Education Department at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville.  She has been active in promoting research in Tennessee as a proposal writing consultant and an academic consultant to the State Advisory Council for Technological and Adult Education.   Her recent work was as co-author of the text, Understanding Research Communication.  Dr. Morgan's  recognition includes the Tennessee Outstanding Administrator Award, President Tennessee Directors of Occupational Education, and the Oxford Board of Regents Golden Apple Award for Instruction and induction into the Order of the Lion and the Eagle.

[1990] Theodore H. Kittell, PhD, JD, DLitt, Distinguished Professor of Management and Law, is currently the Chief Academic Officer of Oxford Graduate School.  He has two earned doctorates: PhD in Organizational Management from Walden University and

JD from William Mitchell School of Law, the Master of Hospital Administration from the University of Minnesota and a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of New Mexico.  He is a consultant for the Tennessee Board of Health.  Admitted to the Bar in California and Minnesota, he is an expert witness in healthcare management and evaluates medical malpractice cases.   He is a licensed Tennessee Nursing Home Administrator.

Dr. Kittell is active in short-term funded overseas seminars in Continuing Legal Education, Healthcare Management, and Men’s Studies, and does mediation and arbitration work. He has done additional graduate study in Management at Harvard Graduate School of Business.  His experience includes 27 years as a hospital executive in the U.S. Air Force; Pulaski Memorial Hospital, Winamac, IN; Apple River Hospital, Amery, WI, and Coalinga District Hospital, Coalinga, CA.  He has 14 years experience as a lawyer and ten years experience as a consultant in healthcare management.  He has written and presented numerous papers in healthcare management, men’s studies, assisted suicide and the right to die.  He is a Diplomate in the Oxford Society of Scholars; a Life Fellow, American College of Healthcare Executives; Diplomate, Board of American Forensic Examiners; Fellow, Academy of Medical Administrators; Member, American College of Healthcare Administrators; Member, American Society of Healthcare Law, Medicine and Ethics; Member, Academy of Legal Studies in Business.  He has served on numerous health-related boards.  Throughout his business careers he has been active in Lions or Rotary service clubs.

 [1990] William G. Justice, DMin, DPhil, DLitt, has aProfessorship in Religion and Society at Oxford Graduate School.  He was for 16 years Chair of the Board of Governors of the Oxford Society of Scholars and has been active in the graduate program since 1981.  His undergraduate work at Clemson University in Civil Engineering was intrupted by the Korean War.  During that conflict Justice was an officer and pilot of a B-29 before earning a BA from Furman with a double major in psychology and sociology.  Graduate work was at New Orleans (MDiv), Luther Rice (DMin) Oxford Graduate School (DPhil) and the Oxford Society of Scholars tenure track culminated in the awarding of the DLitt for lifelong scholarship and reseach.  During his nearly three decades of hospital chaplaincy at East Tennessee Baptist, he also served as a Licensed Private Counselor and a Marriage and Family Theropist.  During this period he was part-time instructor at Carson-Newman and Johnson Bible College.  His graduate faculty experience as clinical instructor and advisor of doctoral candidates included work at Columbia Theological Seminary, Luther Rice, Chandler School of Theology (Emory), Southeaster, Southern, and New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminaries and the Divinity School at Vanderbilt.  During his writing career, Dr. Justice has published over 20 books and frequent journal articles. Since his retirement from the Chaplaincy, Dr. Justice has been a permanent part of the Oxford Graduate School faculty.

[1990] Richard A. Humphrey, PhD, DLitt, CFLE, Distinguished Professor of Family Life Education and Ethics, is the former Chairperson of the Philosophy and Religion Department at Appalachian State University, served as Director of Interdisciplinary Masters Program in Appalachian Studies at ASU, and was the principle author of the proposal that established the Center for Appalachian Studies.  His academic specialization is History of Christianity, an area in which he has taught, primarily at the graduate level, for 24 years.  He also has extensive experience teaching courses in the history of philosophy and ethics, and the history of world religions.  He has written four books and more than

25 articles dealing with various aspects of religion and culture in Southern Appalachia.  He is a Family Life Educator certified by the National Council of Family Relations.  He is a Scholar in the Oxford Society of Scholars.  On the faculty of Oxford Graduate School since 1988, he has been Dean of the Faculty, and currently holds responsibility as Senior Tutor.

[1990] Stephen J. Pix, MA, (Oxon.) DLitt, LLM, DipTh, Professorship in Morality, Law, Society, was appointed to the faculty in 1990. He earned his Master of Arts degree from the University of Oxford, and a Master’s in Cannon Law from Cardiff University.  He also earned a research doctorate from Oxford Graduate School.  Dr. Pix’s teaching responsibilities include Reading and Research and graduate research guidance.  In addition to qualifications in Canon Law, Dr. Pix served as an English Soliciter, as Vicar in the Church of England, and holds several post-doctoral credentials, certifications, and honors including the Scholar level in the Oxford Society of Scholars, and the Order of the Lion and the Eagle. He also serves a Proctor, UK and Senior Tutor for the American Centre for Religion and Society Studies (ACRSS).

[1992] Rollin A. Van Broekhoven, JD, DPhil, DLitt,

 Professor of Morality, Law, and Society, was appointed to the faculty in 1992. He has served as a Federal Judge and has earned doctorates in Jurisprudence from Baylor and the integration of Religion and Society from Oxford Graduate School.  Judge VanBroekhoven has an LLM from George Washington and holds a Federal Judge Certification.   His primary function at Oxford Graduate School is in lifelong scholarship and research.  He teaches in the areas of morality, law, and society, and supervises the ACRSS aspects of the Oxford Graduate School program in the UK.  Dr. VanBroekhoven holds many post-doctoral certifications and honors including qualifications as an Administrative Judge (Federal), Federal Judge Certification, and is a Scholar in the Oxford Society of Scholars. 

Judge VanBroekhoven’s honors includes the DLitt for lifelong scholarship and he is a UK Exam Proctor for the Marked Profile.

[1996] Larry A. Standridge, PhD, is Professor of Education and Social Research.  He is an experienced academic administrator/researcher, with seventeen (17) years of academic experience in guiding independent study and research.  He is a former Dean/Director of Continuing Education at the University of Tennessee-Martin, Lansing Community College (MI), and Sterling College (KS).  Dr. Standridge was selected from four finalists for an advertised position as Supervisor of Graduate Research for Oxford Graduate School in 1996.

Dr. Standridge teaches statistics as a language and works with the Graduate Research Council in supervising research projects and serves as the Officer for Institutional Effectiveness.  He is a recognized authority on adult education, has taught graduate courses on the subject at various schools, consulted to continuing education programs at three colleges, wrote and produced three instructional videos associated with teaching adults, and taught courses on the adult learner as an adjunct instructor for two universities.  He is co-author of two texts on statistics and research methods.   His awards include the President’s Award from the Michigan Association for Adult and Continuing Education and the Golden Apple Award from Oxford Graduate School.  He has been active in a variety of church leadership roles.

[1997]  Charles M. Mould, DPhil (Oxon) Professorship in Library Science and Research, was appointed to the faculty in 1997. Most advanced is the DPhil from the University of Oxford.  Dr. Mould also holds the MA for the University of Oxford.  His primary instructional responsibility is Reading and Research.

 Dr. Mould has many post-doctoral awards, certificates

and honors.  He had a distinguished British Military Career, retired as Secretary of the Bodleian Library (graduate library of U Oxford).

He is an Executive Fellow, St. Cross, Oxford, a Diplomate, Oxford Society of Scholars, holds the Order of the Lion and the Eagle, and is Secretary and editor of a scholarly society in the UK.

[2003] Donald C. Elliott, DPhil,

Professorship in Ethics and Society, was appointed to the faculty in 2003. He is a distinguished alumnus of OGS holding a DPhil in Religion and Society and a MS in History from Radford University, Radford, Va. His undergraduate studies were at Emmanuel College, Franklin Springs Ga. with a BS in Religion and a BS from Bluefield State College, Bluefield, WV in Social Studies and Edu. Other qualifications or experience: post-doctoral studies in philosophy, religion, and theology to earn certifications and honors. He held faculty positions in two colleges where he taught history, theology, religion, bible, and ethics. Dr. Elliott is an aggressive research/writer in ethics and is published in professional journals.  Dr. Elliott’s teaching responsibilities at OGS include Ethics and Society, Professional Ethics, and Self-Concept and he is an advisor for proposal development and dissertation writing in his area of expertise. Dr. Elliott is an Ordained Clergy and Clergy-Educator.

Boyd, Sr., DMA , has a professorship in Music Composition and Performance and guides graduate students in developing proposals and dissertations in his area of expertise.  His most advanced degree and discipline is the DMA in Music – Louisiana State University and the  MMS in Music Ed from Temple University.   He also holds the MEd in Education from W Maryland College and the BA from Central Bible College.
