Transnational Association of Christian Colleges and Schools (TRACS)

Oxford Graduate School has satisfied a National Accrediting Body as to the quality of the graduate programs. Transnational Association of Christian Colleges and Schools (TRACS) is recognized by the United States Department of Education (USDE) and the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) as a national accrediting agency for Christian postsecondary institutions that offer certificates, diplomas, associate, baccalaureate, and graduate degrees, including distance learning. TRACS is also a member of the International Network for Quality Assurance Agencies in Higher Education. In a letter announcing the positive decision of the Accrediting Commission to grant Oxford Graduate School authorization as a Category IV Institution retroactive to July 1, 2003, the Executive Director of TRACS congratulated the administration, faculty and staff for their “dedication to providing quality Christian graduate education.” This action by TRACS means national recognition for Oxford Graduate School and listing in the Higher Education Directory, plus additional benefits for students. The statement of the Accrediting Commission is below:

Oxford Graduate School is a member of the Transnational Association of Christian Colleges and Schools (TRACS) [PO Box 328, Forest, VA 24551; Telephone 434.525.9539; e-mail: info@tracs.org ] having been awarded Candidate status as a Category IV by the TRACS Accreditation Commission on July 1, 2003; this status is effective for a period of five years.

Tennessee Higher Education Commission

Tennessee law, under which Oxford Graduate School was chartered and authorized to operate as a degree granting institution, required progress toward accreditation using the standard of an appropriate accreditation agency. Annual reviews by the Tennessee Higher Education Commission have resulted in compliance with the law since 1983.  This authorization is renewed each year and is based on standards concerning quality of education, ethical business practices, health and safety, and fiscal responsibility. The state-approving agency has annually reviewed the academic program leading to the MLitt and DPhil degrees. Eligible veterans enrolled in either the master's or doctoral studies may receive benefits. The graduate program has been approved for the training of veterans since 1985.
